Distracted, is the word I'd use for most people in this modern era where we're bombarded with flashy images and ideas left right and center; where there's no more room for introspection and contemplation. We're so used to having every single second of our lives flooded with things that catch our attention that we're essentially a culture that's ADD in training.
Distracted, is no longer the phenomenon where our minds go "SQUIRREL!" and then allows us to regain and reassemble our thoughts. This phenomenon has highly evolved itself to overtake our minds so instead of letting us refocus on the task at hand, our minds not only go "SQUIRREL!" constantly, but it's making us constantly on the lookout for "SQUIRRELS!"
Distracted, is this very post in and of itself. When a midterm is just a sunrise away (and you still have 3 more chapters to study), who would ever think about blogging, especially when you've completely forgotten the name of the blog you had to look through a friend's blog to find this.
Distracted, is me.
Oh, the irony.....

And of course i was distracted by facebook RIGHT after i wrote this post. And to my surprise, i find the epitome of what I posted about. Distracted, is indulging your life in video games and neglecting the true purpose.
